Smith, Leona M. – 67, Salmon River, passed away on November 26, 2011, at home. Born in South Branch, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Reta (Jeffers) Cox. Leona worked in the restaurant industry and drove special needs children for the Colchester East Hants School Board. She is survived by companion Albert “Toby” Beal; daughters Ronda and Lesa; sons Kevin (Cathy) and Donald (Sherri); special niece Diane (Jackie) grandchildren Christie, Kevin Jr., Grady, Brylin, Chyler, Carly and Connor; brothers Eric (Leona); Chester (Donna); Ralph (Agnes); sisters Gertrude (John); Cilda (Wayne). She was predeceased by her husband Leo; sister, Irene. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service by request. Interment will be held in the Bible Hill Cemetery in the spring of 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bible Hill Cemetery, the Victorian Order of Nurses, the Palliative Care Unit of the Colchester Regional Hospital, or the Canadian Red Cross.
