Ashton "Peter" Alexander  Hardy
Hardy, Ashton A. “Peter” – age 77, Bridgewater and formerly of Truro passed away September 27, 2015 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgetown, he was a son of the late Catherine and John Hardy. Peter was employed with the R.C.A.F. from January 1955 – July 1977; then with Northern Telecom from April 1975-July 1977 and worked with the R.C.M.P. from July 1977 – April 1993. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Forbes; daughter, Susan Crawford, Kansas City, Missouri; stepdaughters, Wendy LeBlanc, Truro, Heather (Kevin) Rhodenizer, Lunenburg, Beverly (Philip) Eisenhauer, Riverport; stepson, Thomas (Lisa) Forbes, Colorado Springs; nine grandchildren and spouses and great-grandchildren who brought great joy to Poppy’s life; brother, Jack (Margo) Hardy, NS; brother-in-law, Bill (Joan), Ont.; sisters, Eva LaLonde, Berwick; sisters-in-law, Stella (Aubrey), Florida; Audrey Hardy, Locharbour, NS. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, James Hardy; sisters, Margaret and Catherine and his first wife, the former Jean Wentworth. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 1 pm until time of the Funeral Service at 2 pm all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Reception to follow. Donations in his memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society or the Colchester SPCA.
