Kenneth  Patriquin
Patriquin, Kenneth Reginald - 89, Tatamagouche, passed away suddenly at home on April 4, 2017. Born Nov. 12, 1927 in Harmony, N.S., he was the oldest son of George and Marion (Millen) Patriquin.
He enlisted with the 2nd Battalion North Nova Scotia Highlanders Reserves (1943-1945). Kenneth made his living as a building contractor, building many residential homes and apartment complexes in Stoney Creek and Hamilton, Ont. In 1959, he moved home to Nova Scotia where he bought a farm and a sawmill. After a few years he went into the trucking industry hauling gravel and eventually pulp. In 1971 he bought his first Timberjack skidder and became a pulp and logging contractor for Scott Paper. In later years, he passed much of his time playing solitaire, cribbage and dominoes. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going for drives and recounting local history. He is predeceased by wife of 70 years, Jessie Elaine (Tattrie); parents, George and Marion Patriquin; brother, Vernon Patriquin. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Roberta Amos), Jack (Jenny Langille), Kyle (Dorothy Lawless); daughter, Charlotte Osborne (Barry Pratt); sister, Verna Lowden, Brother-in-law, Reed Lowden; sister-in-law, Phyllis Tattrie; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place with Interment at a later date. Donations in his memory can be made to Sunny Brae Cemetery.
