Susan Elizabeth Jean Smith “Sue/Susie”
SMITH, Susan Elizabeth Jean - 46, Brookfield. It is with great sadness and disbelief that the family writes of the passing of Susie on April 12, 2017. She was a high energy individual who thrived on helping others with a particular interest in volunteering in the community and caring for the elderly. Susie is survived by her biological parents, Sylvia Thomopolous, Greece and Nicholas Smith, BC; aunts and uncles – Sid and Margie Johnson, Brookfield; Roy and Susan Crews, Boutiliers Point; Bill Johnson, Truro; Mary Johnson, Dartmouth; Kerry and Brian Irving, North River; cousins, Vernon Johnson (Crystal), Alison Famiglietti (Vito), Lauren Howard (Tyler), Will Johnson, Arlene Johnson, Jennifer Murnan (Justin) and Chris Irving, great aunts and her longtime friend, Dwight Robertson. Susie will be especially missed by her canine companion, Mika. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Smith; grandparents Eric and Ruth (Lummy) Smith, Lloyd and Violet Johnson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro from where Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17 from 6-8pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 1 pm in Knox United Church, Brookfield, Rev. Larry Harrison officiating. Reception will follow. Cremation has taken place with Interment in Westside Cemetery, Brookfield. If so desired, donations in Susie’s memory can be made to the Colchester Branch SPCA.
