Noel Wenban Brooks – 88, Bible Hill, passed away April 25, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Weymouth North, Digby Co., on August 27, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Mabel (Dale) Brooks. Noel worked for Nova Scotia Power all his working life. He was district supervisor in St. Peter’s area which included the surrounding communities. He enjoyed his membership with Fellowship Lodge and Truro Lodge, having received his sixty-five-year pin. Noel also became a proud Shriner. He was a huge Blue Jay fan and kept up to date on the scores. Noel is survived by his wife, Estelle (MacDonald); daughters, Elaine (John Tays), Marjorie (John MacKenzie); granddaughter, Caitlin Brooks; grandson, Cameron MacKenzie; great grandsons, Justin, Rowan, Preston, Carson and Tyson; sisters, Gwen Vibert, North Sydney; Joyce Ward, New York; sisters in law, Norma Landry and Joan Brooks. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers; Dale and Irvin; sisters, Marjorie, Noreen, Eline. Noel also loved his furry friends, Katie and Peppy who will miss him dearly. Dad, grandfather, and great grandfather, all roles that he loved. A special thank you to Dr. Blair, Dr.’s S. and J. Singh, Emergency Staff, ICU and Unit 2E at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Thanks also to the EHS, Valley-Kemptown Fire Dept., the VON Home Care workers and to the nurses and LPNs who faithfully looked after Noel. Cremation has taken place with no visitation or funeral service by request. Interment will take place in Greenfield Cemetery at a later time. Donations in Noel’s memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, 14 Court St. Suite 100, Truro, NS B2N 3H7.
