Condolence From: jim seager
Condolence: my deepest sympathies at this most trying time .
I met Bill in the july of 1961 when i was posted to the minesweeper Thunder" ,;and also learned he too,was from Hamilton Ont .
I had just finished two's course and was to be the "tech"for the sparker world ..
Bill was the other sparker ..
He used to go nuts when i could nt understand some of the simplest of "tech stuff". Despite that we enjoyed a friendship for many years .. He certainly was ahead of everyone I know in the tech world and i learned so very much from him.I ,became a "ham"under his guidance and built my first "rig"under his watchful eye. We were friends for many years after that although we drifted apart
after his move to Truro .

Condolence: I first met "Bugs" Grundy in the mid 1960s.He was a Naval radio operator ( "sparker" they were called)and
was taking his first electronics course in the Naval Electrical School in Halifax. He was an amateur radio hobbyist, and began the training with a knowledge that was already quite advanced. I was a civilian instructor in a lab in the school at that time, and Buggs, along with other amateur guys, would hang around my lab at noon time. Bugs/Bill showed an exceptional aptitude for, and interest in designing and building radio equipment. his building was the best I saw in my whole career, spent in that same school. I was glad to later learn that he'd chosen Nova Scotia as the place to spend his life. I was sorry to read of his passing, and extend condolences to his family.

Condolence: In 1978, I attended an Adult Ed evening class in electronics taught by Bill at Shelburne Vocational School. That course led to my Amateur Radio ticket and a hobby that has anchored my life ever since. Over the years, I have done emergency radio work for the fire service, EMO and ground search and rescue, all thanks to Bill's teaching.
My deepest condolences to Bill's family on his passing.
