Obituary for Gerald Croft

Gerald Harvey Croft – 84, Truro, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Clarence Harvey Croft and Daisy Adelaide (Johnson). Gerald worked for many years with CN Rail as a Conductor and Brakeman, retiring in 1989 at the age of 57. Prior to working with CN, he worked as a bush pilot in northern Quebec and Labrador. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, gun making and collecting as well as playing pool where he participated in several leagues. Time spent deer hunting at the camp on Folly Mountain was one of his favourite activities. Gerald was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. He is survived by his son, Michael Croft (Debbie White); daughter, Katherine Prentice (Michael O’Flynn); grandchildren, Tory Prentice, Ryan Prentice, Steven Croft, Kevin Croft; sister, Shirley E. Harrison. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Freda in infancy. Honouring Gerald’s wishes, Cremation has taken place with no visitation or funeral service by request. Donations celebrating his memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation (565 N.
