Marilyn  Reid
Marilyn Elizabeth (James) Reid - 77, Truro, passed away on October 30, 2017 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Great Village, NS on July 31, 1940, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Roy James and Anna (Shirley) Jamieson. She is survived by her husband, John and their three children, Jack (Paula), Shelley (Bob), and Scott (Tracy); and her grandchildren, Brittany, Brianna, Noah, Pierson, and Kai; and sister, Karen (Neale) Stead. She was predeceased by her brother, Don (Linda) James. Marilyn grew up in Truro, NS and became a registered nurse, graduating from the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax in 1961. She was the school nurse at Mount Allison University and in hospitals in Moncton, Amherst, Tatamagouche, and Truro. Marilyn will most be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and giving, loving heart. She enjoyed organizing and hosting get-togethers and parties to celebrate many occasions with family and friends. She loved adventures and trips, cooking and baking, playing cards with friends, and spending quality time with her family. She cared deeply for and was devoted to her family, who will forever lovingly remember her. In keeping with her wishes, a Private Graveside Service will be held to celebrate her life. Donations may be made to the Arthritis Society in her memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
