Condolences

Condolence From: Gale Cook (Purdy)
Condolence: Sincerest condolences to all of Carolyn's family. I grew up in Ontario and had three close encounters with Carolyn in the past two decades, traveling home from NWT and from BC. Visiting in her home with my Mom (Kay Purdy). I loved being in her home. Seemed like I knew Carolyn's wonderful practical manner and humour from Mom and Dad as I was growing up, they would mention Carolyn fondly many many times in conversations about the family in the Maritimes. I had hoped once more to visit with Carolyn this past January when I was planning a trip to Truro. This trip was cancelled due to weather closing airports. Again, my heartfelt sympathies to you each grieving the loss of such a special family member.

Condolence: Dear Family, I knew Caroline most of my life and she was a wonderful person full of good humor and so bright with knowledge. she was a true gem with a Great attitude and sports ethic. I knew Her brother and your dad as well for many years. I know this will be a difficult time for you all, but you were fortunate to have a mother who was so conscientious and exciting to be around. My family loved her and Lick and my mom played bridge as well. She was a great example of a family oriented woman who found time to be a great citizen in her busy life as well. You were truly blessed to have her. I hope you will treasure your moments. Hugs to you all, Karen

Condolence From: Shirley Levy Nicholson
Condolence: My sincere condolences are extended to Carolyn's family. I last talked to Carolyn last fall in Truro and as usual she was in good spirits. You may be aware that a group of us who graduated from CCA in the mid-fifties still got together for luncheon at least once a year and quite often we met at the Truro Golf Club for that friendly occasion. Friends of long standing are treasured and we will miss Carolyn's physical presence at our future gatherings. My thoughts will be with you tomorrow. Shirley

Condolence From: Angela Hinchliffe
Condolence: The light is just a tad dimmer on the horizon of human kindness and caring with the death of my friend of nearly 60 years. Although Carolyn was living on what she referred to as "borrowed time", it is still sad to have to say goodbye to a much-admired woman who cared so passionately for decency and truth. I am glad that we had lunch and a visit in August on one of my flying trips home to "me native land". I will miss her phone calls and letters written on the run. My sympathy to her family.

Condolence From: Freda Hatfield
Condolence: It was with great sadness that I learned of Carolyn's passing today. My condolences to all of her family. Carolyn and I were at CCA together and until I read her obituary today never realized that we shared the same date of birth (me being one year older). Carolyn lived up to her creed of life, and we always had some great chats when we met. Not an uppity bone in her body. We also shared the same political beliefs - LOL May you rest in peace Carolyn. You earned it. Sincerely, Freda (Charlton) Hatfield

Condolence From: Jack&Evelyn MacIsaac
Condolence: To: Carolyn and 'Licks' family. We were saddened to learn of Carolyn's passing and send along heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all.Greatly appreciated the reference in her obituary of her 'hate list' and it is true testimony to her character and reflects how types like she referred to should be given 'appropriate' treatment by the rest of the community.A dose of honesty that would be good for all,and Certainlly her late brother Harry(who was a special friend) would agree and smile knowingly of the types she was referring to her.She will be missed across the province by all whose lives she touched in different ways, and there were many! Sincerely JackMacIsaac 607-2677 Gladstone St Halifax
