Condolences

Condolence From: Greg & Cathy Murray
Condolence: Our condolences to your family. Mr. Moore as he was known to me, hired me when I was only 15 years old. I worked at the IGA until I was 19 and went off the into the world to pursue my career. I was well equipped due to the lessons Mr. Moore taught me. He taught me to treat all persons with respect. He showed me that hard work was part of being successful in life. He was always willing to listen and was quick to praise you when you were doing a good job. He was all about giving people the benefit of the doubt. He was kind and compassionate. He was in short one of the one of the best. God bless.

Condolence: Dear Mary and Family, We were so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. He was such a great man and we remember the comedy team of Claude and Gordon who would do almost anything to get a laugh or thoroughly embarrass themselves in the many skits they performed. Such a great guy and so full of fun and always with that twinkle in his eye. He has left us with many wonderful memories. Please accept our deepest sympathies and you will be in our hearts and prayers. Jim & Nola Mahon

Condolence: Dear Mary & family: Our deepest sympathy, as with other family members and friends, you gather to give thanks and remember one who made a remarkable contribution on the lives of ever so many. Our memories go back to St. David's United Church, the men's club, First United and his on going contribution in and to everything which spoke, over and over again, of how as a man of deep faith he was truly gifted. We give thanks, that June and I had the privilege of knowing Gordon in church and community activities. May you know with increased meaning the words of faith "In life, in death, in life beyond death. God is with us! Thanks be to God!" Condolence From: Colleen Pinkney
Condolence: My condoences go out to Cheryl and all of Gordon's family; a very sad time. I remember, as a little girl, going to Moore's IGA on Prince Street with my Mom and "Mr. Moore" putting money in the little horse (I think it was pink...) at the front of the store so I could go for a ride. Mr. Moore was such a kind and caring man; the last time we spoke he talked about his love for his grandchildren and we always talked about Cheryl and her family. His eyes sparkled when he spoke of his beloved family. As a community, we just lost a great one.....however, all of us will cherish our memories of this wonderful man.

Condolence From: Sherri (Pebbles) Glass Smith
Condolence: I don’t really remember the first time I met Gordon but my mom used to shop at his store when I was a small child. I was fascinated with the battery operated birdie in the cage in the produce section and he gave it to my mom, Theresa for me. Years later I had the privilege to work with him at Bible Hill Home Hardware. I brought the bird in the cage to show him that I still had it and he grinned from ear to ear. He was a true gentleman and I enjoyed working with him and hearing his stories. My sincere condolences and I will always smile when I see that birdie in the cage and think of him. ❤️❤️❤️

Condolence: Heather, Peter and Family Sorry to read about Gordon's passing. I first met Gordon when he operated Moore"s IGA. When I started with CBSA I rented a lot from Gordon for $8.00/month and used to go to the store to buy goodies for coffee break. He was a nice man and always friendly when you went to the store. I am sure he will be missed by all of his family.

Condolence From: Diane McCallum
Condolence: So sad to read of Mr Moore' passing. As a young girl and just starting out on my own I lived close to Moore's IGA which was than located at the corner of Prince & Pleasant Street. Mr Moore was always so pleasant, walking around the store making sure you found everything you were looking for. About 2 years ago I went into the Chowder House Restaurant in Tatamagouche and he was there and I spoke to him and told him that he still looked the same, he did not remember me but I sure did remember him because he was always so pleasant and always took the time to speak with you and as a young person I appreciated that very much. RIP Mr Moore
