Obituary for Mary Priest (Faulkner)

Mary Priest (Faulkner)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our mother, Mary Amanda Priest (Faulkner), beloved wife of Percy Priest. Mary passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018 at home in Economy, Nova Scotia. Mary was born in Swan River, Manitoba on May 14,1932, daughter of the late Leonard and Sara (Lewis) Faulkner. She was 39 plus tax. Mary moved with her family from Manitoba to Nova Scotia when she was young. Mary married Percy Priest on August 5, 1950, and they were married for 67 wonderful years. After they married, they moved to Ontario to make a better life for themselves. They lived in Etobicoke for over 30 years and Mary waited for the day when they could return home to Nova Scotia. They traveled for a few years and visited a lot of friends and family across Canada. Mary loved the beach and everything to do with the farm. She loved fishing, cribbage, bingo and music. Mary is survived by her husband, Percy and her children, Linda (Chris) of Brampton, ON., David (Shirley) of Hillsborough, N.B., Teresa (Jack) Bowmanville, ON., Alan (Jody) of Huntsville, ON.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mary is also survived by her sister, Beryl Wheeler of Sackville, N.B. Mary was predeceased by her son, Donald and her sister, Ruby; brothers, Lewis, Cam, Pursel and LeRoy. The family has decided to have a celebration of life in the summer when all the family can be together. The family would like to thank all the VON staff and professional service workers for all the care that was given to Mary and the help and support given to Percy and family. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro where on-line condolences may be made at: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
