September 9th, 1957 - April 26th, 2018
Jim passed away peacefully in his Hilden home surrounded by his family, loved ones as well as his loyal, little dog Rocky. Jim lovingly leaves behind his wife, partner and best friend of 41 years, Theresa. His three children, James (Jaclyn) of Bible Hill, Carrie Anne (Jamie) of Belmont and Joseph (Jennifer) of Truro. The three lights of his life, his grandchildren, Seth, Jersey and Jaze. His sisters, Connie (Duane) Stewart of Truro Heights and Betty (Ron) Johnson of Debert as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was pre-deceased by his father, Edwin of Oxford, NS, his mother Mabel of Guysborough, as well as his step father Ralph Horton of Guysborough. Jim worked from the age of 15 in the grocery business. He spent most of his career as the grocery manager at Ryan's IGA in Truro. He would later finish out his career as a receiver at The Truro Superstore. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being in the woods or out in the boat with his hunting/fishing partner and best friend, Joe Gould. Jim was a loyal, gentle and loving man. His family was his whole world. He lived and worked his entire life for them. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 1 from 6-7:30pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with a short service and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to The Maritime Specialty Service Dog Society or a charity of choice.
