Gates, Albert Earle – 73 of Truro passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side; his wife Marsha (Fulmer), sons and their wives, Aaron (Robin), Andrew (Amy) and Shaun (Shannon). His greatest treasures were his “Little Critters”, his grandchildren, Nathan, Zachary and Shantel. Albert is also survived by his eldest brother George of Halifax. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Alice (Wilson) of Paradise, sister, Mary Ellen Bishop of Lawrencetown and brother, Richard of Dartmouth. Albert’s great work ethics were evident in having worked at Kingston Aluminum and H.A. Travelways for roughly 40 years. He loved baseball having been a pitcher at the AAA level and of late he enjoyed watching the Toronto Blue Jays. Albert enjoyed wood working, boating and fishing at Angevine Lake where he and Marsha retired. He enjoyed the clients and activities at VON Adult Care Program under the leaders, Jeannie, Bonnie and Monique. Albert struggled for a long time with Alzheimer’s, losing in the end. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm with a time for words of remembrance at 3 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Trenton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VON Adult Care Program at Johnson Manor, Truro or a charity of choice.
