Obituary for Marion Ross (Bird)

Ross, Marion Elizabeth (Bird) – 86, of Truro, passed away September 24, 2018 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Wellington and Katherine “Clark” (Boyne) Bird. Marion was an active member of many different groups including St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church as an Elder, a member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Guild and a choir member. She was a C.G.I.T. leader, a Camp Geddie Volunteer and a Brown Owl Leader for 30 years. Marion was an avid quilter, enjoyed seniors dances and all needle work. She loved her family dearly and took great pride in them. Marion is survived by her children, Diane (Dennis) Kutchera, Middle Sackville, Karen (Bernie) Chisholm, Middle Sackville, Barbara (Mike) McCallum, Tatamagouche, Carol (Corbin) Mitchell, Qualiqum Beach, Vancouver Island, B.C., Richard (Judy), Bible Hill and Phillip (Sandi), Bible Hill. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren, Rick, Mark, Marla, Byron, Joe, Sarah, Stephen, Katie, Michelle, Cory, Cameron, Dylan, Megan and Ross; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; her sister, Ruth Bezanson and her special friend Donnie Langille. Marion was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Adam Ross and siblings, Mildred Ross (identical twin sister), Evelyn Adams, Florence Adams, Neita Mahoney, Greta Rogers, Robert Bird, Claude Bird, Doug Bird, Avery Bird; and special friend, Lyman Perrin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro from where visitation will be held from 4 – 6 pm, Friday, September 28th. Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 29th at 11 am from Colchester Community Funeral Home with Pastor Jacquie Ross officiating the service. Reception will follow. Interment in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, M.S. Society or charity of choice.
