Condolence: Claire and Family, My sincere condolences for your loss. Although 40 years or so have passed since the Truro days, I must pass on to you one of the many memories that stands out above most. As a temporary immigrant from Montreal to my Mom's birthplace of Truro, finding the Aberdeen St location with Wayne and yourself at the helm made my transition so much easier. The two of you were so welcoming and Wayne's fish passion a treat. Although I was an avid fisherman in Quebec, salmon fishing was new to me after arriving and with Wayne's guidance was molded into an extension of the sport that was extremely rewarding. My picture snapped in the store even made the local news thanks to Wayne, I believe it was through his newsletter, when I landed 3 fish during one outing. I remember the caption being something like "3-Handed Rick" due to the fact that a second person's hand held one of the fish. What an end to a perfect day! I have been one that has been touched by him in such a way that his kindness and giving nature will forever last through memories like mine.

Condolence: I was so sad to read of Wayne’s passing today. At the moment I am visiting Devin in Montreal and just last night I was talking about Wayne. Carl and I had only been married a short time and Wayne arrived with a bunch of apples for us but he wanted a pie. I had never tried to make a pie but I got to work. It looked beautiful in the oven so Carl called Wayne to come for a slice of pie. I don.t know what I did but you could not cut it. The guys made quite a production using a hammer and saw on the pie. They were a pair but we shared lots of good times. Take.care.
