Obituary for Cecil Caudle

Cecil  Caudle
Caudle, Cecil Henry, 86 – The passing occurred on October 11, 2018 of Cecil Henry Caudle in Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born on February 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Roy and Myrtle (Hodge) Caudle. Cecil is survived by daughter, Catherine Clark (Bruce Ernest), Lower Onslow; son, Steven (Christene), Valley; beloved grandchildren who meant the world to him, Julia Clark (Sam Kuzyk), Calgary, Parker and Nathan Caudle, Truro. He is also survived by sister, Doris Wall, Halifax; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Frances Matheson and Ronnie Wilson. Predeceased by wife, Dolores, son-in law, Blair Clark and brother, Edward Caudle.
Cecil was a dedicated employee of CN Rail for almost 40 years. His love of sports and the outdoors developed at a very young age and continued throughout his life. He was involved in baseball and various levels of Bearcat hockey – Junior, Senior and District and ended his hockey career with the Truro Bearcat Oldtimers. Upon retirement, he learned to downhill ski and went on many ski trips with the Senior Ski Club. He also loved to golf, skate, bike, hike, canoe and travel. He developed a love for dancing and music and was an active member of the “Good Time Seniors Dance Club” attending up to five dances a week until his passing. He was an active member of AA, the Truro Legion and attended Valley United Church. His outgoing personality and zest for life allowed him to cultivate many strong bonds with loved ones whom he considered family. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 2p.m. with Rev. Carolyn Wilson-Wynne officiating. A reception/visitation will follow. Donations in his memory may be made to CEHHC Palliative Care or Colchester Hospice Society.
