Obituary for Janice Wayte (MacKay)

Wayte, Janice Roberta (MacKay) – 76, a longtime resident of Valley, NS, passed on November 7, 2018 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in 1942, she was a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a daughter and a good friend to all. Besides raising a family, she was an avid gardener her entire life; a key member of the original Valley Recreation Association and worked hard to give the kids of Valley a place to play sports, belong to a team and make friends. She was close with her family and loved nothing more than being the life of the party. She used her humour to bring smiles and laughs to everyone around her. If asked how she was, one could be sure to hear “Fine thanks, how are you?” with a genuine smile as a response.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Melanie, son, Scott (Hazel), son-in-law Leon, grandchildren Christopher and Natalie; sister Barb (Ian), and Aunt Phyllis (Gordon). She was loved by all. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob, and parents, Ethel and Bob MacKay.

A celebration of life visitation will take place on November 12, from 6-8 pm at Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation, the Leukemia / Lymphoma Society, or any charity near and dear to your heart. Completion of arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home. Online messages of condolence may be sent to the family by visiting: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
