Gordon Lewis McCully - 98, Debert. It is with deep sadness that the family of Gordon McCully announces his passing on November 27, 2018 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre at the age of 98 years. Gordon was a wonderful, caring husband to his wife, Phyllis for 71 years and a loving father to his son, Douglas. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Dad was a Veteran of WWII from 1939-45. He served in England and India with Bomber Command as a Wireless Operator and Air Gunner. In 1950, he re-enlisted with the RCAF until his retirement in 1970. Gordon worked for a total of 34 years in the public service including 8 years at the DND and other various jobs. He was a member of the United Church of Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #106 Debert and the Debert Fire Brigade. He and Phyllis enjoyed traveling south and across Canada on many bus tours. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Totten) and his son, Doug and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Everett and Mae (Withrow) McCully, three brothers and two sisters.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, from where visitation will be held Monday, December 3rd from 6-8pm beginning with a Debert Fire Brigade Tribute at 6pm. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 4th beginning with a Debert Legion Branch #106 Tribute at 2pm. Rev. Carolyn Rushton will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Interment at a later date in Debert Cemetery, Plains Road. Donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Upper Londonderry Pastoral Charge or charity of choice.
