Obituary for Paul Toole

Paul Toole
Toole, Paul Douglas, 53 - It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Douglas Toole announces his sudden passing at home on December 2, 2018. Paul will be lovingly remembered by his partner of 23 years, Donna MacCallum. Paul was born the son of Helen Toole (nee Stevens) and the late Gordon Toole. He is survived by brothers, Kelly (Donna), James (Debbie) and sister, Glenda Cameron (John); nieces, Caley, Caitlyn and Morgan; nephew, Patrick; also, great nieces, Lux and Peyton and great nephew, Dax; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many great friends and neighbours. Lovingly remembered by his step-dad, Alan and by Donna’s parents, Elaine and Bob. Paul was a Red Seal Mechanic and had been employed with A-1 Tires for the past 20 years. He enjoyed working for the Atkinson’s and with his co-workers, especially Alan, who worked alongside him. Prior to that, he worked for Auto Trans Garage. Paul was well known by local farmers for his ability to fix any tractor, bailer or other piece of farm equipment. He had an ability to repair anything mechanical. Paul had a dry sense of humour and he would say, “If women didn’t find you handsome, they could at least find you handy.” At Christmas-time, he looked forward to bringing the wooden Grinch up from the basement for the tree. Paul loved spending time with Donna floating in the pool, going to the beach, going camping and his newfound hobby, cycling. Paul’s other loves included his fur babies: Sophie, Cinder and Snickers. He put up with the horses for Donna’s sake, or so he says. He would often be found in the barn patting and talking to them. Paul, Donna and their special friend Barb, enjoyed making hay in the summer with his tractor for the horses. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 11th, 2018 beginning with visitation from 1p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with the Rev.
