Obituary for Frances Weatherbee

Frances Elizabeth Weatherbee, 62 - Central Onslow. It is with great sorrow that the family of Frances (Fran) Elizabeth Weatherbee announce her passing on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Born in Truro on December 22, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Marion (Brenton) Weatherbee of Lower Truro. Francie grew up in Lower Truro and then moved to Annapolis Royal where she enjoyed her life in that beautiful community. She also lived in Kentville and in 2003, she moved home to help care for her mother. Fran worked for MBW Courier for many years both in administration and as a driver. She was a supporter of the Terry Fox Run as a survivor of breast cancer and spent many hours visiting and helping others. She loved animals and provided a loving home to an assortment of animals over the years, most recently her cat Carson. She is survived by her only son, Ryan Hay and daughter-in-law, Sabrina of Annapolis Royal and their four children, Raine, Noah, Rogan and Tatjana. Being a grandmother was so important to her and she treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings, Linda (Bob) Byers, Tatamagouche, Walter (Marilyn) Weatherbee, Debert, Mike Weatherbee, Central Onslow and Cynthia (Chris) Connolly of Lower Truro. She was a much loved aunt to Claudia and Matthew Connolly, Dennis Weatherbee and Jamie and Joseph Faulkner. Survivors also include aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her partner Donald Gaudet of Kentville. The family wish to thank all of the medical staff that helped with Fran’s care in the last six weeks. Thanks as well to family, friends and co-workers for your help and support. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to invite friends and family to join us for a time of remembrance on Sunday, December 9th from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be made to the Colchester Hospice Society (89 Queen St., Truro, B2N 2B2) or a charity of choice.
