Rae, Marie Anna – 82, Hilden. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Marie Anna Rae (Bezanson), age 82, of Hilden, N.S. Marie passed away on May 14th, 2019 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre with all of her children by her side. Marie was an avid gardener, quilt maker and an excellent cook. She loved hunting and fishing along with old time music and dancing. Most of all, she loved her family and friends. Marie was an exceptionally loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will always be loved and missed, but never forgotten. Marie is survived by her nine children; Donnie (Cheryl) Rae of Onslow, Beverly Rae (Tom Tinling) of Hilden, Betty (Warren) Bay of Camden, Irene (Louie) Shipley of Truro, Lois (Bruce) Armstrong of Vancouver Island, Karl Rae of Alberta, Shirley (Larry) Hennigar of North River, Judy Camm (Donald Hoadley) of Truro, Heather (Ray) Walinga of Alberta, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Marie is also survived by her brother, George (Muriel) Bezanson of West Branch and sister, Phyllis Mitchell of Ontario. Marie was predeceased by her parents, George and Alice Bezanson; brothers, Johnny, Freddie and Jimmy Bezanson and sisters, Frances Crowe and Thelma Cloney; her late husband, Donald Rae, and special friend, James Webb. If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at the CEHHC for their care and compassion; special thanks to Dr. J Singh and ICU nurses, Patty and Alicia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 6-8p.m. with a Funeral service on Monday, May 20th at 2p.m. both in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, A Reception to follow. A private interment will be held at a later date in the Crossroads Cemetery, Valley.
