Condolence: To Mark and Chris and families.I am stocked and saddened by the early passing of your father. How very sad and tragic. Both of your parents were great supporters of my seafood market.I appreciated that and I always enjoyed my chats with them.Your father gave so much to this town,Margolians will be forever missed by those that walked Truro’s streets during the time it was in business. For I know,a family business is just that..a family business, and I thank you both as well.As you go forward, always know that he walks with you, that he is in you.As the years pass, you will hear and feel his presence with you.As we age, life does that to us all...we seem to evolve as our parents.I wish you comfort and peace during this very difficult time.

Condolence From: Ray Lindsay
Condolence: Mark, Chris, Karen and Donnie, and all family...so very sorry for your unexpected loss. I knew Bob for many years, but our friendship bonded while doing Uechi Ryu Karate in Truro under Sensi and friend Duncan Macleod. It was no surprise that Bob landed on to Uechi Ryu as it is only one of a very select few martial arts with genuine roots that run deep into History in China. It was a pure and mostly an undiluted martial art. We punished each other often in class, as we did a lot of physical conditioning, arms, legs bodies, and I am sure Bob likely complained at times about a sore body from class. He and I often would be paired up on those occasions. Like everything Bob did he was a dedicated student and he gave his total energy, mind, body and Spirit to his time in class. Bob achieved a high rank from his time there, and I know he was proud of that accomplishment. Every time we would meet in Truro, our conversation would end up on that topic, and the hope that Sensi Duncan who had retired from teaching would re start senior friendly classes, that would be a bit kinder to aging bodies. Bob was not one to brag, he was a gentle man, but he was a tough customer of grit, and sinew, and mental toughness. I can guarantee that any one who might have decided to challenge him physically would have been in for a great surprise, but one would never have known that from his demeanour. I will cherish those memories until he and I can meet again and relive them once more. I leave you with a short poem called Ascension that speaks to my belief that we do not end here, we just shift dimensions. Blessings to all. Ray Lindsay Truro Ascension And if I go, while you're still here... Know that I live on, vibrating to a different measure --behind a thin veil you cannot see through. You will not see me, so you must have faith. I wait for the time when we can soar together again, --both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to its fullest. And when you need me, Just whisper my name in your heart, ...I will be there. "Ascension" Copyright ©1987, Colleen Corah Hitchcock

Condolence From: Louis d'Entremont
Condolence: On behalf of The Highland Gun Club, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to family and friends of Robert Sidler. Robert was an avid skeet, trap and sporting clay shooter who shot at the Highland Gun Club in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia many times. I personally had the opportunity to shoot with Robert in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia and with his guidance and help, it was the best round of sporting clay that I ever shot. Robert was also an avid upland bird hunter. I had the opportunity to hunt with him on one occasion. He was very appreciative of nature like a true sportsman. He hunted with my friend, Bill d’Entremont, who is a Licensed Guide from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, for many years. He will be missed by the shooting sport community as well as the upland bird hunting community. Louis A. d’Entremont President of The Highland Gun Club

Condolence: Mark and Christopher My sincere condolences on your father's passing, I was fortunate to know him thru business dealings and his quiet, kind yet strong, classy and purposeful business acumen always stood out. He once gave a tour of the entire building with his personal insight into the history, background of each level and changes made over the years not just in the building but in business trends. He had great knowledge of people, business and was outstanding, but he was an even better person and that along with everyone else I will miss. He spoke of you both glowingly and was so proud of you.May the many happy memories bring a smile to you and help at this difficult time. May he have the eternal rest which he so richly deserves. Terry French

Condolence: Mark, Chris & Karen, Jim & I were shocked to read in the paper today of your father's tragic passing. We have wonderful memories from the days when we visited Truro and more rarely when your parents visited us in Dartmouth: your dad drove his Oldsmobile as one of our wedding cars, he barbecued some wonderful salmon he had caught, of course, he sold me a rod he had replaced to give Jim as a gift, he made me so welcome to stay overnight, even, knowing how important your mom's university friends were to her. We're keeping you close in our thoughts as we have always done. May he rest in peace! Love, Lorna & Jim

Condolence: Mark, Chris, Jody, and families, I’m thinking of you all and sending along my deepest condolences. I was so sad to hear of Robert’s passing today. He was such a caring man and I have many, many wonderful memories. I loved his quiet sense of humour and his love of learning. He was always sharing something new that he learned. We had a shared love of animals, especially dogs. After one of our first meetings, I took Ace and Storme for a walk and there was a little incident. I remember being worried to tell Robert, but he was very understanding and I knew he was going to be a cool guy and that we’d get along. He was so supportive of me in everything: running (“don’t you think you should try to win it though?” –so him 😊), vegetarianism (“you’re doing a good thing”), my work (“how are the little urchins?”), and more. Robert was beyond generous, from his many thoughtful gifts to the opportunities he provided me that I wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. It was so much fun to go flying with him, and even more fun to dance with him. He was a wonderful dancer! Dinners, Scotch by the fire, time with the dogs, time at the store- there are just too many memories. I am so happy to have had Robert in my life. The last time I saw Robert he spoke such kind words and gave me the most heartfelt hug that I will never forget. I love you, Robert. xo

Condolence: My condolences to the family. I did not know Robert for very long but over the past several months I spent numerous hours with him, helping with sorting and evaluating items for him from his home in Bible Hill. We had a lot of common interests and I enjoyed sharing stories with him (and the dogs). He showed so much pride when speaking of his sons. Stephen Weatherby

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to Robert's family. Robert and I got to meet each other as competitors at trap and skeet competitions. He was an excellent shooter and a tough competitor. While we started off trying to beat each other in the early days, the head to head competition gave way to a wonderful friendship. Over the past 10 or 15 years we spent countless hours on the phone or afternoons at the club swapping stories, exploring shared interests and just enjoying each others company. I'll miss our wonderful get togethers. RIP my friend.

Condolence: Bobby was always a quiet man. I knew him all my life. We always kibitzed on Inglis Street when I came home for a visit and played catch up. We played together as children until he moved to Longworth. Bernice his mom was a jewel in the community of Truro. After Bobby got married I didn't see him around as much as earlier on, but he was such a nice guy and I often thought of him especially when he lost his wife so young. I was happy to see he filled his life with things that made him happy especially in the outdoors. I am so deeply sorry for the family and this loss. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Condolence: My condolences to Mark, Chris and family. I’ll share how kind your father was to me after losing my dog. He took some time to ask what happened and to commiserate. When I brought my new puppy in to visit, he stopped to show me how to utilize the leash as a makeshift harness, not even blinking an eye when my excitable pup piddled on his shoes. Still makes me both cringe and laugh a little. You’re in my thoughts. Nicole Phillips

Condolence: I had worked at Margolians at its closing and for several years prior. I had made 'Mr.Sidler' snicker upon using the term 'Get'er Done', which in turn made me snicker myself. I would be sure to show him if I had displayed a fishing or like themed window so as he could enjoy. My deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to his sons Mark and Chris at this very difficult time.
