From Family:
Thank you to everyone who kept us in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Irene's interment was the morning of 28 May and it was respectfully done on a bright sunny day with the birds chirping in the background. The priest was thoughtful with his prayers and the service. Larry (Son) placed her urn in the plot and then sang her favourite songs, Farewell to Nova Scotia and Goodnite Irene. Paul (Son) placed her companion battery operated cat, Minnie in beside her. Mary, Larry, Paul and Wayne Chafe gently placed a rose and said their private goodbyes. Then they each took a package of Forget me Not seeds from the flower arrangement that was surrounding Irene's photo. After the cemetery, the whole family and our friend Wayne went out to lunch to celebrate her life and reminisce- tell stories and laugh . It was a glorious day and one that Irene would have loved!
