Condolence From: Virginia McVarish
Condolence: To Dorothy's family,

I was just doing some genealogy research on Ancestry and found that Dorothy was my third cousin. I am sorry to learn that she has passed away. I will hope to be inn contact with other family members as time goes on.

My belated sympathy,

Condolence: Although I did not know your mum, I knew many of the other warbrides of the Stewiacke Valley who attended Club and am aware she was the last of this wonderful band of sisters who gave so much to our communities. Mary Fisher, her unofficial twin, spoke of her often with great affection. My sympathies to each of you,

Marion Retson

Condolence: Rhonda, Gordon, Patricia and families: So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She and my mother were friends for years, both being war brides from WWII. I thought of that when reading her obituary. Please know you are in our thoughts at this difficult time. Sincere condolences to each of you.
Kind regards, Christine and Bill

Condolence: So sorry to hear about Aunt Dot. She was always such a cheerful person. Over the years, I had many chats with her in town. She always remembered who I was and would ask about Brian and our family.

Condolence From: David Blaikie
Condolence: Gordon, Rhonda, Trish (and families) - my sympathies on the loss of your mother, whom I remember so well when we were kids growing up in the village (on Blaikies' Corner). She was good to me, despite the mischief we got into at times, and in later years I came to understand and appreciate how much the "War Brides" brought with them to Canada (and how difficult that must have been for them at times). I also have good memories of your father, and and am grateful for his service during the war. My thoughts are with you all at this time. (David, Ottawa.)
