Obituary for H. Eldon Forbes

H. Eldon  Forbes
H. Eldon Forbes – 76, Truro, passed away July 10, 2019 at home. Born in Louisville, N.S., he was the son of the late Hibbert and Lena Jean (Fowler) Forbes.

Eldon began his career as a school bus driver and later went on to work with Acadian Lines until his retirement in 1996 during which he developed lifelong friendships. He was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Truro where he was a member of the choir and part of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was well known around the parish community; volunteering especially with Kane’s Kitchen as well as with the KOC Turkey Wheel at Truro Mall. He also enjoyed his daily walks around town.

Eldon leaves behind his daughter, Tracy (Anthony) Simpson, Debert; stepsons, Terry Forbes, Hilden and Jeff (Soanlys) Forbes, Truro; grandson, Connor Simpson; step grandchildren, Sam, Brandon, Sophie, Serena Forbes.

Along with his parents, Eldon was predeceased by sisters, Mabel Carroll and Edith Wilson; step grandson, Nick Forbes.

Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 25 at 11am in Immaculate Conception Church, 669 Prince St., Truro, Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Reception to follow in Campbell Hall. Interment following the reception in Lockerby Memorial Cemetery, Tatamagouche.
