MacLeod, Allison Dawn - Truro
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Allison Dawn MacLeod, age 54, on January 3rd in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre. A loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend.
Born in North York, Ontario to mother, Marilyn McKillop (Ivan), father, Allister MacLeod (Joan). Survived by husband, Brad; daughters, Maggie and Jillian; sister, Tami MacLeod (Blaine Culley) and their sons, Mitchell, Blake and Reed; brother, Corey MacLeod (Kerry Wright); mother-in-law, Sandy Lawrence; brother-in-law, Greg Lawrence (Shelby) and their children, Geoff and Rachael; nieces, Brenna Edgar (Josh), Jana Bardell and Aaron Bardell; stepbrother, Dwight Paterson (Shelley Kenney) and their sons, Ian and Joel; step nieces, Cassie and Olivia Devine; stepsisters, Juanita Roode and Teresa McKillop. She was pre-deceased by sister, Melissa Bardell; sister-in-law, Janice MacLeod; stepsister, Kim Paterson and father-in-law, Gary Lawrence.
Allison enjoyed being at the cottage with her husband Brad and walking along the trails with Maggie, Jillian and her dogs Pugsley and Latte, going for a walk with her mother in Brookfield and hiking with friends Marianne and Amy. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing. Allison was involved in her community through the Colchester Highland Dance Association. She obtained her degrees from Sainte Anne, Acadia, St. Mary`s, and Mount Saint Vincent. Allison taught school in Ontario and Nova Scotia, recently at North River Elementary.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, January 6 with funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, Rev. Elroy McKillop officiating, both from the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only, please.
