Barbara Jean  McNutt (Morrison)
Barbara Jean McNutt, age 82, Brookfield, formerly Upper Onlsow, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Nettie (Lynch) Morrison.

She cared for many elderly folks until she herself, was 78 years old. She was very caring and giving, always looking out for others, especially her family. She and Felix had twenty one years of enjoying life together. He was often referred to by Barbara, as her “partner in crime”.

She is survived by her partner, Felix Pelkey; daughters, Gwen (Jim) Spence, Truro, Jill (Colin) Janes, North River, Cheryl Reade, Upper Onslow; sons, Bruce (Kathryn), Upper Onslow, Brad (Samantha Fletcher), Onslow Mountain; step-son, Todd Snover (Cynthia), Texas; brother, Eugene (Ruth) Morrison; grandchildren, Melissa (Paul) Thorpe, Natalie Janes, Heidi (Colin) Gibson, Ashley (Rob) McCabe, Christopher Reade, Jason (Caitlynn) McNutt, Jonathan (Rana) McNutt, Sarah McNutt, Karen (Jeff) Thompson, Laura (Tom) Hutchinson, Dalton (Kristie) Lyons, Alex Ferdinand, Victoria McNutt, Jaida Myhre, Olyvia Myhre; fifteen great grandchildren; step daughter-in-law, Nancy Pelkey as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Charles Morrison and step-son, Darrell Pelkey.

The family would like to thank the VON homecare as well as Debbie for all of their care and kindness.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8th from 6 – 8 pm with a funeral service on Sunday, February 9th at 2 pm, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Pastor Matt Forrest officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CEHHC Palliative Care Unit – Truro.
