Obituary for Chantelle Lindsay

Chantelle  Lindsay
Lindsay, Chantelle Nicole, age 23, North River, passed away on February 19, 2020 after a long but courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis with her family by her side until the bitter end. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of Mark and Kelly (Mingo) Lindsay. Chantelle was a beautiful girl - always happy and carefree with a smile on her face. Chantelle was loved by all who knew her. She indeed was not alone in this valiant fight, having many friends and supporters from near and far. Chantelle enjoyed many sports including hockey, Lacrosse and soccer. She had many friendships which were forever cherished. The family would like to express appreciation to all who have touched Chantelle throughout her life. She received excellent care from the Doctors and Nurses at the QEII as well as the Cystic Fibrosis staff at the IWK who indeed were a big part of her life.

Along with her parents, Chantelle is survived her brothers, Jeff Lindsay, Ryan Lindsay (Daina McCallum); paternal grandmother, Evelyn Lindsay; nephew, Brantley Lindsay; her boyfriend, Brandon Vance, who was a huge part of her life; aunt, Darlene MacKay (Ed); cousins, Justin MacKay (Chelsey VanRossum), Brandon MacKay (Alexa MacDonald); Brittany MacKay; many other great aunts, uncles and cousins. Chantelle was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Thomas Lindsay; maternal grandparents; Harold and Pat Mingo.

A Service of Thanksgiving for Chantelle’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 2pm in First United Church, 711 Prince St., Truro with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Memorial Hall. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Chantelle’s memory may be made to a special fund in her memory to continue the fight for members of the Cystic Fibrosis community. This may be done through the funeral home. Chantelle’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
