Obituary for Catherine Dale (Kent)

Dale, Catherine Aileen, age 92, Truro, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Globe, Arizona on October 19, 1927 to the late Fred and Helen {Wentzell) Kent. She moved with her family at a young age to Fort Ellis, NS. Catherine was very social, constantly involved with family, friends and community. Her career as Secretary at the N.S. Dept. of Agriculture was important to her. She loved outdoor adventures, road trips, music, live theater and art. She shared her enthusiasm for beauty and nature as an active member/volunteer with “Friends of the Garden” at Dal /AC. Here she made many lasting friendships. Never one to be idle, she spent countless hours cooking, baking, knitting, doing calligraphy and gardening. With her gracious generosity, Catherine truly spread joy, giving to others. Catherine was predeceased by husband, Wilfred; sister, Francis (Keith} Miller and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She is survived by daughters, Jo-Ann (Craig) Phillips, Sandra Felderhof (Brendan Morrissy); grandchildren, Derek(Valerie) Felderhof, Mariska Felderhof, Heidi Felderhof (Kurtis Steadman}, Brenna Phillips (Kyle MacNeil), Ian Phillips (Sara Landry); great grandchildren, Annika and Ira Felderhof, Max Phillips, Hendrik Steadman; brother, Robert (Betty) Kent; sisters-in-law, Florence (Harold Snyder) and Marg Dale; many special nieces and nephews. To respect Catherine’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A special note of appreciation to the Palliative Care staff both at home and most recently, at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, for your supportive and compassionate care. If so desired, donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Red Cross or Hospice Society.
