Obituary for Linda Woodward

Linda Lulu Woodward – 66, Belmont

On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Linda passed peacefully at home with her husband and children at her side. Born in Carmenville, NL, she was a daughter of the late Verna and Oswald Pennell. The family moved to Quebec and it was in Chateauguay where she met the love of her life, Marty. They married and moved to Nova Scotia in 1977, making their home and raising their family in Belmont.

In 1985, Linda started as the Postmaster of the Belmont Post Office which was a career she enjoyed for over 20 years. She valued her role with the post office as it served the community and gave her occasion to meet so many wonderful people.

Linda was always pleased to share meals and celebrate with her family and friends. Cooking for those she loved, gave her great joy. She applauded the successes of her family and was always keen to share accomplishments and good news.

Linda is celebrated and deeply missed by her husband, Marty; son, Kevin (Beth); daughter, Karen (Nicholas) Stanley; grandchildren, Dylan, Alyson and Morgan and sister, Trudy Moore. She is predeceased by parents, Verna and Oswald Pennell; brothers, Eric, Ed and Calvin; sister, Faye and brother-in-law, Bob Moore.

The family would like to send much gratitude to the Palliative Care and home care members who helped provide great care and tenderness to Linda in this turbulent time.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the Belmont Cemetery with Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating. Donations may be made to the VON Palliative Care or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, where online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
