Obituary for Matthew Hill

Hill, Matthew Joshua, born on May 6, 1983 in Truro, NS, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. He was 37 years old. Growing up, he was always the “baby” – a definite Momma’s boy. Throughout his childhood, he had a passion for cars and all things automotive. He pursued this passion with his older brother, Scott working side by side at Import Heaven. He contributed to a lot of peoples’ passion for vehicles, making many friends along the way.
Matt had a way of making people laugh. His smile always lit up a room.
Matt was a man of family – it was the most important thing to him. His greatest accomplishment was having a son and watching him grow into an incredible young man. Isaiah was his whole world. He also spent hours with his mother and grandmother prior to his illness – sneaking her treats. He loved his nieces and nephews – especially Savannah. Matt had a special bond with his brothers who meant the world to him.
He will be remembered by his jokester ways and crazy sense of humour. He touched lives wherever he went. If you ever met him, you remembered him. It is with heavy hearts that we will never hear his laugh again. He touched so many people in his beautiful life. He will never be forgotten.
He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Hill. He is survived by his mother, Darlene Johnson (Brookfield); his son, Isaiah (mother – Venessa Cavanaugh); his brothers, Scott, Shawn, Andree and Kenny; his sisters, Kim, Charlaine and Sonya; his grandmother, Betty Johnson and many other family members whom he loved dearly. All of his family and friends would agree that he has taken a piece of our hearts with him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
