Obituary for Lavinia Brooks

Lavinia  Brooks
Brooks, Lavinia Ann – age 58, Millbrook, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2020 at home. Born in Truro on July 4, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Josephine Brooks. Lavinia had recently retired from work as a Community Health Representative for Millbrook. She enjoyed volunteering and always put others before herself. She was dependable and made friends easily. She loved to organize parties, particularly at Christmas time and she also loved to travel. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew her. Lavinia had much in her life of which to be proud, especially her grandchildren, Braelyn, Vienna, Kahli and Prayson Brooks, Keaghan Power, Kenzie Denny and Levi Sack. Along with her grandchildren, she is survived by her daughters, Amanda Brooks (Matthew Zawada), Suzanne Brooks and Siobhan Brooks (CJ Sack), all of Millbrook; sisters, Diana “Deanna” Brooks, Millbrook, Linda Julian (Jack), Paq’tnkek, Mary “Hubba” Lafford, Paq’tnkek; Godchildren, Missy, Joey, Lyndon and Dallas; many nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Wanda Brooks.

Lavinia will rest at 15 Gerald Ave., Unit 4, Millbrook First Nation for visitation beginning after 6pm, Thursday, June 25th until time of Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 27th in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Millbrook First Nation with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral service in the church is private. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
