Gerald "Paul" Deveau

Deveau, Gerald Paul, 76 – Hilden. It is with great sadness that we announce Paul’s sudden passing at home on July 10, 2020. Paul was born a son of the late Gerald and Muriel Deveau of Yarmouth, NS on November 30, 1943. He is survived by his son, Kirk (Tara); daughter, Tara; grandchildren, Madison, Brodey and Mackenzie; sister, Mariea (Jerry) Titus; brother, Randy (Wendy); sister-in-law, Janice Lawrence; nephews, John Ray (Jennifer) and Chris (Terri); nieces, Jennifer and Erin (Dustin) and great nieces, Lillian and Clara. Paul was a Stanley Doors Salesman in the Atlantic Provinces for the vast majority of his career and retired in 2001 from Kohler Windows. He was a well-known woodworker who made countless items for tole painting, furniture and custom orders. Paul was a volunteer in minor hockey, he also held many positions in the Hilden United Church, including Elder, Clerk of Session and Choir Member. Paul was a member of Kinsmen and K-40 and also sang in both the St. James Men’s Choir and the John Fisher Men’s Choir. Paul loved to spend time with family and friends, especially at the cottage in Bass River. He was very proud of his children but especially loved telling others about his grandchildren and loved to joke and tease with the people he met. Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Frances; infant daughter, Tracy; brother–in-law, John Lawrence and parents-in-law, Wilfred and Mabel Lawrence. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, NS from where a visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th from 6-8 pm with a private family service on Tuesday, July 21st at 1 pm with Rev.
