McRae, Carolyn Letitia – Age 84, Valley, passed peacefully on August 1, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Marcilla Johnson. Carolyn was a member of Valley-Greenfield United Church. Over the years, she sang in the choir, taught Sunday-school and was an Elder. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and looked forward to getting her hair done in town on Fridays. She enjoyed the family gatherings. Carolyn is survived by son, Stanley Roy (Tracy); her grandchildren, Bradley Moore (Ashley), Christopher Moore (Ashley), Jason, Emily Doucette (Grady); her great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Alexa and Emmett; her son-in-law, Bill Doucette; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Johnson and Alice McNutt along with her nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter; her daughter, Gayle and her brother, Gordon. Special thanks to her family physician, Dr. Nina Makkar, Village Family Pharmasave, the VON Palliative Care team and homecare workers. Donations in her memory, may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, VON Palliative Care or Valley-Greenfield United Church. Due to COVID – 19 restrictions, a Memorial Service with family and close friends will be held on Sunday, August 9th at 2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Student Minister, April Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley.
