Obituary for Mae Archibald (Dean)

Archibald, Mae Lillian – Age 86, Truro, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Bridgeport, Cape Breton County, NS she was a daughter of the late James and Lillian (Snow) Dean.

Mae was a very loving sister, mother and wife. She was a member of the Truro Congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 60 years. She loved creation and her God Jehovah. Mae enjoyed and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Her favorite flowers were May Flowers which she looked forward to picking every spring. She enjoyed spending time camping and traveling around Nova Scotia with our Dad, Elmer. Mae loved a good game of 45’s and music. She will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mae is survived by sons, Gary (Charlene), Foster (Tami), Kenny (Helen) and Daniel; daughters, Susan (Marcus) Liston, Heather (Ralph) Brown and Carolyn Archibald; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; sisters, Mary and Janet. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of over 69 years, Elmer; sisters, Janette, Shirly and Ann; brothers, Dan, Walter and James.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th from 12 noon until time of Funeral Service at 1 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Mr. David Spence officiating. Burial will take place in Kemptown United Church Cemetery immediately following the service. Guests are asked to wear masks and COVID-19 precautions will be in place.
