Obituary for Ralph Davis

Ralph Manning Davis, 94 years young passed peacefully on Wednesday December 30, 2020 in Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Hospital where he resided for 7 years. Ralph was a lifelong and valued member of the community of Truro, born on August 3, 1926, to Charles and Christena (McKenzie) Davis. He is survived by his sons, Kelvin and wife Marlene, Timberlea; Stephen and husband, David LeFort, Grand Etang; Mark, Bolton, Ont.; his sister, Ruth (MacFarlane), Stellarton; great-grand and granddaughters, nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. Ralph was predeceased by his dearest wife, Elizabeth; and eldest son, Richard had many fond memories of a happy childhood, canine pets and youthful pursuits that prepared him for proud service during the war and afterwards assisting returning POW's. A handyman with many skills, Ralph built two homes for his growing family of active boys. Following retirement from Maritime Telephone and Telegraph Co. (1989), he served as volunteer to the Truro Fire Brigade, the Truro Legion and the First United Church. Ralph was happiest gardening and in the company of Elizabeth and their granddaughters, Tanya, Angela, Maria, Ashley, Jessica and Michelle. Dad was a wit and a mimic at parties and enjoyed his life most fully!

Interment and tribute to be held in the spring in Watson Cemetery, East Prince St., Truro. The family wants to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to the wonderful Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Hospital, Garrison Five West staff and volunteers for their gentle care for all our veterans. And to you who knew our dad and shared his kindness, thank you for your love.
