Obituary for Holly Weatherby

Holly Weatherby
Holly Ruth Weatherby – 60, Truro, passed away surrounded by her sons, sister and best friend on January 29, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro after a courageous battle with cancer.
Holly was a daughter, sister, mother, grammy, aunt, great aunt and best friend. In Holly’s words, she had a GOOD LIFE; blessed to have a good family, two beautiful boys, was athletic, smart and had two great loves and had a great career as a firefighter with HRM Fire.

Holly always had a great work ethic, a quality she passed down to her two “boyos.”

Always going all out “go big or go home”, she loved time at the cottage with her boys and her girl’s weekends. Holly was a loving and kind person, fun and adventurous, practical, sensible, and committed. The love of her life, her beautiful “grand” Ciara, Holly’s faith and practical thinking helped her manage the hand she was dealt, at peace with her circumstances.

Holly is survived by her sons, Travis (Christine), Wesley and granddaughter, Ciara; her parents, Edward and Phyllis Burgan; sisters, Kara (Paul), Leah (Keith), Kelly (Rick); brother, Joe; her friend, David Weatherby; seven nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Kevin Hawley.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, Truro. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations in Holly’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
