Obituary for Clayton Lewis

Lewis, Clayton Ernest – Age 84, Bass River, passed peacefully in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro, surrounded with the thought of knowing he was loved dearly by his family and friends on March 3, 2021. Born in Bass River, he was a son of the late Ernest and Algreta (MacPherson) Lewis.
Clayton was a Red Seal Mechanic having worked at Goodspeeds, Scot Truck, Kent Homes and the Department of Highway. Once retired, he enjoyed working in his own garage and at his camp and blueberry lands in Pleasant Hills. He was very proud to have been able to call Bass River his home. He was a member of the Riverside United Church and a founding member of the Bass River Fire Brigade.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Kay (Fletcher); brothers, Ivan (Meredith) and Gordon (Judy), both of Bass River and loved by many nieces and nephews. Clayton was predeceased by his son, Richard; sisters, Josephine, Gertrude and Ethel; brothers, Robert, Morris, Cecil and Curtis.
