Fitzgerald, Alphonsus “Brian” - Age 76, Truro, formerly of Sydney. With great sadness, the family of Brian Fitzgerald announces his passing on May 6, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. He was born in South Harbour, Victoria Co., NS to the late Stephen and Mary Effie Fitzgerald.
Brian is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Rosemary; daughters, Carolann (John), Truro and Stephanie, USA; sons, Roland (Robin), Glace Bay and Joseph, Moncton; grandchildren, Stephen, Alexis, Michael, Bradley, Leona, Jennifer, Daniel; great grandson, Declan; sister, Julie (Raymond Daisley), Halifax as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, John, Stanley, Allister and Mike; sisters, Josie and Margie.
Dad was an amazing guitar player who always looked forward to the next jam session or playing at a local retirement home and at different venues in Sydney before his move to Truro. Even after an early retirement due to poor vision, he never stopped. He could always be found cutting wood for the winter or mowing and trimming his lawn. If not there, Dad could be found under the hood of a car. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many fellow musicians and friends.
Due to the unfortunate circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Dad’s life and love of music will be held at a later date with a Graveside Service in Sydney, as per his wishes.
