It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom Lorraine Mary Gould, at the age of 75 on August 6th 2021. Born in Shubenacadie NS, she was the daughter of Mary Alice Perry and William Sack. Lorraine was a well-respected member of her Millbrook Mi’kmaw community. She touched the lives of everyone around her with her selfless acts of kindness, witty sense of humour and nurturing sprit. She was a strong traditional Mi’kmaw woman who practiced ceremony and committed her life to providing teachings and uplifting others. Throughout her life she continuously helped others, including; an elder/councillor at the Women’s institutes of Nova Scotia; Councillor/support at the Mi’kmaw Family Healing Centre; a Social Worker at Mi’kmaw Family and Children’s Services of Nova Scotia; Advocate for Addictions/Mental Health Support. Lorraine was also actively involved in Grassroots Grandmothers and was a Grandmother for the White Eagle Sundance.

Lorraine is survived by her sons; Stephen (Susan) Marshall, Jason (Stephanie) Marshall and Jonathan (Alana Lee) Marshall, all of Millbrook; sister; Helena Sevelan, (Boston), Brothers; Earl Sack (Shubenacadie) and Henry Sack (Shubenacadie). Grandchildren; Whitney, Harley, Jordan, Morgan, Charleigh, Brandon, Josiah, Dallas and Ari. Great Grandchildren; Hunter, Sequoia, Chenoa, Genika, Gevaiya, Grayson, Jessika, Jordan and Jackson; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews throughout Canada and the US and many devoted friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband; Clarence Gould, Sisters; Margaret Paul and Florence (Agnus) Pocowatchit, Brothers; Richard Sack, Levi Sack, Joseph Sack, Issac Sack and Herman Sack.

Her infectious laugh and warm smile brought joy to the lives of many. As Lorraine begins her journey to the spirit world, she will be deeply missed and always remembered.

Lorraine's remains will rest at the Millbrook Seniors Centre, 841 Willow St., Truro beginning on Tuesday, August 10th at 10am until time of Traditional Ceremony which will be held on Wednesday, August 11th at 10am in the same location. Cremation will follow with interment of ashes at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
