Obituary for Ernest Parker

Ernest Parker
Parker, Ernest Morris – Age 89, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born on June 13, 1932 in Mill Village, Hants County, he was a son of the late Isaac Logan and Hazel Louise (Moore) Parker.

Dad first worked in Truro as a taxi driver then later went on to work as an auto mechanic for 25 years at various service stations in the area. He retired in 1997 from Clarence Farm Services Ltd. in Truro after 17 years as a mill worker. He had a love of antique cars, recalling years, makes and models whenever he happened to see one. He enjoyed attending antique car shows and telling corny jokes that he borrowed from a certain American pastor on television. He was well liked by all who knew him and certainly didn’t mind lending a helping hand when needed.

He is survived by son, Larry (Cathy Neary) Parker, Bedford and daughter, Debbie (Dave) MacDonald, Crowes Mills; grandchildren, Benjamin, Jennifer and Colin; son-in-law, Carl MacGillivray; sister, Elsie; brothers, Cecil (Darlene) and Roy (Brenda).

He was predeceased by his wife, Marian (Lindsay, Stuart); daughter, Linda; siblings, Gladys, Arnold, Helen, Villa, Harold, Carl, Cyril, John in infancy and his first wife, Annabelle (Higgins).

A visitation will be held from 12pm until time of Memorial service at 1 pm on Sunday, October 3rd both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with April Hart officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Diabetes Canada - NS Division, War Amps or St. David’s United Church in Bible Hill. Online condolences available at www.ColchesterCommunity.com

Dad, you will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed at the table
on special occasions and family BBQ’s.
