Obituary for Marion Elliott

Marion Elliott
Elliott, Marion Dorothy – Age 83, Brookfield, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with her daughter and son by her side.

Marion was born in Shubenacadie on September 21, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Ruby “Gram” Tanner.
Marion worked at Stanfield’s Ltd. for 44 years until her retirement in 2003.

She leaves behind her daughter, Cindy (Shawn); son, Kary (Teresa); grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon (Mariah), Hayley (Greg), Amy (Kyle) and Adam (Sonya) as well as great-grandchildren Aiyana, Matteo, Nakoma, Nakai, Emma; several nieces and nephews. Also mourning her death are her sisters, Barbara Stevens, Helen Dupuis and sister-in-law, Elza Tanner.

Besides her parents and her husband, Charlie, Marion was predeceased by her son, John; sisters, Marilyn Croft, Dollie Cornelius, Lillian Hansen and brothers, Stanley, Harold, Daniel and Fred.

In Marion’s final days, she was surrounded by loved ones who shared their favorite memories of her. Marion’s favorite songs were played for her and she was even able to communicate a few requests! The most important thing though, is that she knew how much she was loved.

Marion’s family would like to thank the Brookfield Fire and Emergency First Responders as well as the EHS Paramedics for their quick response and expert care. Also a huge thanks to the C.E.H.H.C, ER Department, the Stroke Unit and Palliative Care Unit. The doctors and nursing staff were beyond kind, caring and compassionate during this very difficult time. They made everything just a little easier.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. There will be no funeral at Marion’s request. However a graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Red Cross or Salvation Army. Condolences may be made by visiting: www.ColchesterCommunity.com
