Obituary for Melvin Delaney
Melvin Thomas Delaney – Age 76, Belmont, Col. Co., passed away in the evening hours of Thursday, January 13, 2022 at home.
Born in Forteau, Newfoundland and Labrador, he was the son of the late James Frederick Delaney and Una Tilley (Thistle) Delaney-Thistle and stepfather, the late Clarence J. Thistle.
He is survived by best friend, Stephen Henderson as well as many Delaney and Thistle cousins and family members. He will also be missed by his good friend, Stuart.
Mel worked for many years with David Giles Trucking in Bedford. He was an avid woodturner, and was known for his wonderful creations including pens, cutting boards and bowls.
Cremation has taken place. Mel’s ashes will be laid to rest in Forteau, Newfoundland and Labrador at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
