Condolences

Condolence From: Phillip Hay
Condolence: Kevan was a dear and close friend of mine since we met in a human values class at University of Winnipeg in 1980.

We played racquet ball together and shared many walks and talks throughout our lives.

Even though much time would pass in between we would just pick up a conversation from where we left off.

Kevan befriended my two kids and wife Darlene and dropped by often when he lived in Winnipeg.

He was a close friend and will miss him greatly. Fortunately I have many fond memories of times with Kevan that brings a smile to my face

Sleep well Kevan,
Phil

Condolence From: Trish and Ort Miceli
Condolence: We have only just found out the very sad news. Kevan lived with us in Ladner, B.C. a few years before he moved to Nova Scotia. He lived with us for 3 years and quickly became much more than a tenant in the bottom portion of our house. He became a dear friend. We have so many fond memories of this very special man. He was a consummate conversationalist, a person of great intellectual capacity, and I still miss our stimulating chats about life, love, family relations, school (I am also a teacher) and nature. Kevan loved the outdoors. He loved gardening and plants. When he first came to see our suite, he looked around and said "yes, this will be perfect for my orchids!". He had a lot of orchids!! We learned much about gardening from Kevan and still have several of the plants he left us when he departed for the east coast. Kevan also loved cooking and he shared his love of fish with us. I still cook my fish using his recipes!! I recall with fondness one particular winter when it snowed a whole bunch and I looked outside to see Kevan shovelling the sidewalk and the road in front. My husband and I were amazed and very grateful (especially my husband!!). My heart goes out to Kevan's family, to his sisters and nephew who I understand helped out a bit. I hope his cats found a good home. He was dearly in love with his little friends. You will be greatly missed Kevan and your courage throughout the years in the face of your personal struggles will remain an inspiration to me and Ort forever. Rest in peace dear friend. xoxo
