Obituary for Jeffery "Jeff" Fleck

Jeffery "Jeff" Fleck
Fleck, Jeffery Robert – Age 45, Bible Hill. It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, father and husband, Jeffery Robert Fleck, on August 31, 2022, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeff will be deeply missed by his family, friends and especially “his girls.” He had a quick wit, always wanting to make those around him smile. Jeff ’s passion was the outdoors, his beloved Dodge truck, and his four-wheeler. He was the happiest when he was hunting, fishing and camping with Vickie by his side and his dear friends.

Jeff was employed with Divert NS as the Maintenance Coordinator where he developed a special bond with co-workers and made lifelong friendships. Jeff was devastated when his illness halted his ability to continue his career with Divert NS, as he loved his job and enjoyed going to work every day.

Spending time at the camp with the “camp crew” was another item on the top of Jeff ’s list of things that he enjoyed, but his biggest accomplishment was definitely his family. Jeff ’s daughter, Jessica was his pride and joy from the moment she was born. Since Jessica was a little girl, Jeff was always trying to teach her “the way of the outdoors.”

He protected and loved his little sister and best friend, Carla from the time he was a little boy and throughout their lives. Later in life, he also developed an unbreakable bond with his brother-in-law, Tyler Ash. Tyler was a brother in Jeff’s eyes and an incredible friend. Jeff was the apple of his mother’s eye, and he was an amazing son.

Born in Truro, Jeff is survived by his wife, Vickie (Morris); daughter, Jessica; stepchildren, Ryan and Andrew; step grandchildren, Carter and Ezekiel; mother, Cheryl Morrison (Connors); stepfather, Shawn Morrison; father, Bruce Fleck; sister, Carla (Tyler); grandmother, Betty Connors and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Predeceased by maternal grandfather, Edward Charles Connors and paternal grandparents, Janie and Arden Fleck.

We wish to thank Dr. David Henderson and his amazing palliative care team at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for the care, compassion and support they provided to Jeff and our family. We would also like to thank the in-home care provided by VON and in-home Palliative care services that helped keep our precious Jeff at home this past year.

A special thank you to Philip and Valerie Ash for going above and beyond for Jeff and our family during this difficult time.

Donations in Jeff’s memory may be made to CEHHC “We Care About Cancer.”

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8th from 1pm until time of service at 2pm both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, NS with Eileen Corah, Celebrant, officiating.
