Obituary for Tara de Lottinville

de Lottinville, Tara 1994-2022

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts, that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Tara de Lottinville, age 27, in Quebec City, on September 2, 2022. Born in Quebec City on September 25, 1994, she was the eldest child of Larry de Lottinville and Dorothy Guinan.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her brother, Nicolas (Manuela Flores Denti) de Lottinville, aunts Colette de Lottinville (Quebec), Jacquie Cashion (Cornwall), uncles; William “Bill“ (Valerie) Guinan (Calgary); David (Janice) Guinan, John (Kathy) Guinan; aunt Sandra Guinan (Robert) Donaldson (Truro); great aunt Carol McDevitt, as well as numerous cousins across the country, and her cat, Duke.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Aline Bahl and Jacques de Lottinville, maternal grandparents, William and Mary Guinan, and beloved aunt, Anne Guinan.

Tara was a unique and sensitive person, with a quirky sense of humour. She was a voracious reader, determined student, passionately curious and had a keen interest in the sciences that started at a young age. She loved mysteries, candy and her imagination was vivid and entertaining. Nova Scotia held a special place in her heart.

After graduating from Saint Patrick’s High School, Tara enrolled in a sciences program at Cégep-St-Lawrence, followed by a Bio-Pharmaceutical Science Degree at the University of Ottawa. In 2015 she contracted meningitis, and sadly was unable to complete her studies.

Tara suffered with an illness for many years, and her passions were often lost in the struggle. Her sense of humour and love of cats remained a constant. She also had an innate affinity for the elderly, and her compassion was evident during her employment at a senior’s home where she developed special bonds with many residents.

We, the family, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tara’s dedicated friends who provided her with love and support.
A funeral mass to celebrate Tara’s life will be held on September 23, 11 am. at Saint Patrick’s Church, 1145, avenue De Salaberry, Quebec City. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10 am. to 11 am.

Interment will be held at a later date at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Robie Street, Truro, Nova Scotia.
