Schaffer, Beatrice Iona – Age 82, Truro, a daughter of the late Malcolm and Leota Perry, passed away on September 29, 2022, in the Mira Long Term Care Facility surrounded by her loving family.

Bea worked at Stanfield’s for nine years until venturing out West for eight years after which she returned home to Nova Scotia. At that time, she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, but was able to care for her niece and nephews for as long as her health permitted. In 1999, she was admitted to the Mira Long Term Care Facility where she resided for 23 years until her death.

Bea is survived by her sisters, Dianne (Keith) MacKenzie and Joanne (Robert) Johnson, both of Bible Hill; brother, Wayne (Cathy), Hampton, NB; aunts and uncles, including special Aunt Evelyn who went above and beyond caring for Bea as well as seven nephews and eight nieces.

Family flowers only. Donations in Bea’s memory may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, the Mira Recreation Department or charity of choice.
