Obituary for George Davidson
Davidson, George Russell- 96, Lifelong resident of Lower Onslow, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2022, in Debert Court.
Born in Lower Onslow on October 20, 1925, to the late Archie and Gertrude (Fletcher) Davidson. He worked for many years as a mechanic for the Town of Truro and ran a beef farm. After his retirement, George and Charlotte spent their winters in Florida; and their summers at the cottage in Shady Nook surrounded by family.
George is survived by children; Steve (Rhoda), Trudy (Duane) Goodwin, Ritchie (Elaine), Scott (Lois), Krista (Stephen) Locke, Becky (Jay) Brenton; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, siblings Effie and Joe, several nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his wife Charlotte (Stevenson), brother Ross and 2 granddaughters in infancy.
The family want to give a special thank you to Charlene MacKenzie, for the wonderful care she has provided over the years.
A private visitation will be held, with burial in Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery, Rev. Glenn MacLean officiating at a later date. Donations in George’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NS or the Lower Onslow Community Centre.
