Condolence From: Tanya & John (Harvey) MacDonald
Condolence: We were heartbroken to hear of Leon's passing. Such a tragic loss; he deserved so much more support than he got. He was so proud of Christopher and Natalie and loved them dearly as he did Basil and Yzerman; to me this was a true indication of the pain he was in, by making the decision to leave them. Leon was great at connecting with people, he was kind, honest and compassionate, always ready to lend a helping hand; a tribute to his upbringing. May you all find peace in the many happy memories you have shared with Leon over the years. He may be gone, but his memory will certainly live on. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. John & Tanya

Condolence From: Audrey Verge
Condolence: Jessie and family:

I can vividly see this white haired boy who was so full of energy and zest for life.
In life we encounter many challenges, some are so rewarding and others not so much. Leon did his best to help those in need, especially in response to the Portapique tradegy. Sadly he wasn’t given the same respect and help when it was his turn.
Keep your fond and happy memories close to your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this sad and difficult time in your lives.
Love Audrey Verge

Condolence From: Kelsey Kinnear
Condolence: Sending my deepest condolences to Leon's family and friends. I cannot begin to explain how heart broken I was when I heard the news of his passing.

He was close friends with my dad, Rod Kinnear. Over the years I heard many stories beginning with "My buddy Leon". Those stories will be even more special now.

I will be making a donation to the SPCA in Leon's name.

Condolence From: Rev. David Cumby (& the family of Winston Cumby)
Condolence: So sorry to learn through Pastor Heather Card, a Baptist colleague of mine, of Leon's recent passing. Deep condolences, thoughts and prayers are with Jessie, Cora Lee, Christopher and Natalie through this difficult time of grief and loss.

If my Dad, Winston (Merle's old partner at Bryant Flooring) who died in 2014 was alive, I know how bad he would feel for you all as do we all. We remember a great weekend visit to your Sheet Harbour home, when Leon & Cora were very young.

May God's peace and comfort strengthen you in the coming days, as the love of family and friends will also carry you.

Condolence: To hear and then read of Leon's passing is heart wrenching. I am from Prince Edward Island and did not know Leon personally (only through the Commission's work and the media) and am, also, grieving for the loss of yet another life due to the past events. We knew Leon was honest when he stated he couldn't get the help he needed, which in itself, is very sad. Bless his heart and may you find comfort in the fact that Leon has, finally, found peace. My heartfelt condolences to all his family, friends, neighbours and co-workers at this extremely difficult time. May God wrap his arms around Leon and welcome him home to eternal peace.
