Obituary for Noah Perry

Noah Perry
Perry, Noah Paul – Age 73, Central Onslow. It is with deepest sadness and sorrow that we mourn the passing of our dear partner, father, stepfather and brother, Noah on December 26, 2022, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Known to many, not only because of his kind and gentle heart, but of the joy he found throughout the greatest part of his life from his passion for music. Not only did he enjoy the nomadic existence of playing in bands and roaming many parts of the provinces he played in, but it was through his music he met the love of his life, Dorothy, the greatest constant in his life for the last 34 years.

Over the last six years, he embraced Truro as his home. There he found joy and contentment in a community that embraced him as their own, although Newfoundland remained a piece of his heart as all Newfoundlanders know that it will.

Born in a little town, Parson’s Pond on the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland on January 25, 1949, and christened Paul Noah Perry, he tended to alternate between calling Parson’s Pond and Daniel’s Harbour home, and with so many loving relatives and friends in both places, he was wise in not designating one.

Noah enjoyed a varied career, from teaching in a little one room school house in Wiltondale, Newfoundland to finally working with an international company, Bonn in Swan Hills, Alberta.

Noah leaves to mourn his partner, Dorothy; son, Darren; stepdaughter, Valerie (Terry); stepson, Jake (Sherry); sisters, Bethany (Dawson), Naomi (Cator), Ruth (Dave); grandchildren, Nicola (Brad), Lance (Meg), Raven (Mitch) and numerous friends and relatives.

Noah was predeceased by father, Christopher Perry; mother, Viola (Thornhill) Perry; sister, Magdalene “Madge”; brother, Marcus “Marc”; and nephew, Julian Bennett. He was also predeceased by longtime friend and bandmate, Ben Weatherby, through whom he met his love, Dorothy.

He will always be remembered and forever in our hearts.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A graveside service will take place in the spring. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
